Losing Energy

Agenda
  • Warm-up: TRANSFORMATIONS #2
    • Explain 1 of your energy transformation from your Rube Goldberg machine. Was energy created or destroyed in the process? Explain your reasoning.
  • Rube Goldberg
    • Develop a plan for a Rube Goldberg machine
      • must have 5 energy transfers
      • must have 4 different types of energy
      • must have 1 form of "lost" energy
      • must have descriptions of the transfers and energies that demonstrate general understanding of the types of energy
      • must have a description of how the machine demonstrates the law of conservation of energy
    • instead of Goldberg machine, use another system such as nuclear power plant, or pencil sharpener
  • Sailing T-shirt design contest

  • Independent Study Podcast Due Wednesday 5/16
  • Rube Goldberg Poster due Class A - Thursday, Class BCD - Friday
