Assessment and a System

Learning Target:
  • I can identify how energy changes form in a system
HOWLs Target:
  • I demonstrate positive and kind behavior by being quiet while others are taking the test
Agenda
  • Warm-up: FORMS
    • How does energy change when a ball is kicked into the air? Explain the energy transformations.

  • Rube Goldberg
    • Develop a plan for a Rube Goldberg machine
      • must have 5 energy transfers
      • must have 4 different types of energy
      • must have 1 form of "lost" energy
      • must have descriptions of the transfers and energies that demonstrate general understanding of the types of energy
      • must have a description of how the machine demonstrates the law of conservation of energy
    • instead of Goldberg machine, use another system such as nuclear power plant, or pencil sharpener
